About Us |
|
Moss Lumber was founded by Hollis Moss in 1939 at Brush Creek CA near Oroville as a small sawmill operation. In 1945 the Moss family moved to Burnt Ranch Co in Trinity Co. to start a larger operation. For the next 20 years the Moss family built a reputation as a quality leader in pine and structural Douglas fir. In 1966 the Moss family sold their interest in Burnt Ranch and moved to Redding CA where they began a lumber wholesale business. North Valley Lumber Sales sold millions of board feet of lumber to every corner of the United States. In 1976 the 2nd generation of Moss’ Darrel, Charlie and Janet; along with Harry Purcelli began Moss Lumber Co in its present form. In 1995 the 3rd generation of Moss’ Greg and Darren expanded with a new location in Chico featuring a door shop. And a new store in Red Bluff. In 2004 the 4th generation of Moss’ Daniel started and is currently working in the Redding lumber yard. 69 years and 4 generations later Moss Lumber is still known in northern and central California as the industry leader in quality and service. Moss Lumber has the largest lumber yard and door shop between Sacramento and the Oregon border. With a Truss plant and full line hardware store supplying the greater Redding, Red Bluff, Chico and Fresno areas. Nobody else in this region has Moss Lumbers selection in lumber and building materials, supplying everything but the cement floor. Moss Lumbers greatest accomplishment is what they give back to the community. As the only locally owned lumber Yard in the greater Redding area, Moss Lumber supports school, little leagues, law enforcement and fire protection agencies. Moss is committed to its customers in the construction industry as well. Their what-ever-it-takes attitude has been keeping there customers on time and on budget for many years. Do-it-yourselfers and owner builders have come to depend on Moss Lumber to keep there projects running smoothly. |
